Ruto vows to create youth fund

Eldoret North MP William Ruto vowed to empower the youth if elected president.
Mr Ruto said that for the youth to develop economically, the ought to be given opportunities to grow.
He added that he would create a zero-interest special fund for youth and women in his quest to elevate them.
The legislator faulted the Kazi Kwa Vijana program saying that it did not achieve the required objective as it engaged the youth in manual activities in a techno-savvy era.
Food security
Speaking during a campaign tour of Teso on Sunday, Mr Ruto expressed his shame that Kenya, an agricultural country, had people dying of hunger 49 years after independence saying farmers need equipping to increase food security.
He further said that his government would work on addressing the wrongs that have burdened the country and bring change through actions and not mere rhetoric.
The United Republican Party torch bearer was accompanied by MPs Kazungu Kambi, Joshua Kutuny, David Koech and Zakayo Cheruiyot.
