Police warn Kenyans of FAKE OLYMPIC websites

Tuesday, the 31^st of July 2012 -Police are warning Kenyans to be aware that there are websites out there that have been set up by con men to take advantage of them during this time when the Olympic fever is catching on.

The sites are mainly targeting those who want to buy tickets and police spokesman has come out to red flag them so that Kenyans don’t fall victim.

In no particular order the sites are www.euroteam.net, www.tixnet.com,www.olympicticket.info,www.euroteam.info,www.euroteamtickets.com,www.2012tickets.org,www.londonsummergames.net,www.londonsummergames.org,www.euroteam.travel, and www.worldticketservice.net.

Kiraithe said they have received the information through Interpol;

“Kenya Police headquarters would like to inform the public that we have received intelligence from Interpol London, UK, to the effect that criminals have created a fraudulent mother website known as Euroteam, whereby the innocent public are purchasing fake tickets for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games,” said Mr Kiraithe.

Adding;

“The Commissioner of Police would like to advise persons wishing to buy a ticket to the Olympic Games to counter-check adequately to avoid losing money to fraudsters,” he added.
