Two Different Sunday Nations Were In Circulation.
Which Sunday Nation Did You Read?
Kenya, unlike several developed countries, does not have newspapers with more than one daily editions. That means we only see one issue of every newspaper everyday or every week depending on the paper. So, what are the odds of you seeing two different Daily Nations on a single day? Unless NMG decides to take that road, we may safely assume that it will never your lifetime.
This Sunday however, there were two different Sunday Nations in circulation. The one sold on newspaper stands was different from the one circulated as an e paper. Subscribers of the Nation's e paper got a different front page from the print paper. It is still not clear what caused this flaw, whether it was deliberate and whether it affected all subscribers. It is also not clear if it has ever happened again. The difference on the two papers was the main story. The print copy carried a story about Raila and NSIS, while the soft copy had a story about Raila welcoming court ruling on MRC.
Perusing through both papers will show you more discrepancies, especially on the Raila story. Page 10 of both paper contains the story of Raila and NSIS. However, the headlines are different. The print copy reads; Raila:NSIS wants to bring me down while the soft copy reads: 'Bring me down and kill the reform dream'.
The real reason why there were two different Sunday Nations in circulation will remain a matter of speculation unless someone at Nation explains.
Here are two images of the Sunday Nation issue of 29th July front page. The not so clear one is the scanned copy of the one you probably saw on your way from church.
