Raila supporters prefer Mudavadi for running mate

By Rawlings Otieno
Supporters of Prime Minister Raila Odinga want Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi to be his running mate.
This is according to the latest opinion poll conducted by Infotrak released yesterday.
Infotrak Chief Executive Angela Ambitho said that the PM’s supporters would prefer Mudavadi to be his running mate at 17.9 per cent while Mudavadi’s supporters prefer Uhuru Kenyatta as his number two.
The polls conducted between June 7 and 15 this year, indicate that Uhuru’s supporters would prefer Eldoret North MP William Ruto to take the number two slot.
A sample of 11,616 respondents was interviewed in all 47 counties.
12.4 per cent of Raila’s supporters would prefer Gichugu MP Martha Karua to be his running mate followed by Uhuru at 10.1 per cent, Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Ruto and Eugene Wamalwa at 9.7, 8.6 and 6.5 per cent respectively.
Majority of the respondents feel  Uhuru would best suit Ruto as a running mate.
Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka’s bid would be boosted if he chose Uhuru as his running mate. Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth would pair up well in the polls with Martha Karua.
Raila still leads at 36.6 per cent, followed by Uhuru, Kalonzo, Ruto and Mudavadi at 21.9, 9.6, 9.4 and 8.4 per cent respectively.
Ambitho said the polls were scientifically done and rubbished claims of politicians dismissing the reports.
