  • Anguyo on target as K’Ogalo claim floor Chemelil Sugar in Nakuru
Ivan Anguyo’s goal in the second half broke Gor Mahia’s jinx at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru this season as K’Ogalo beat Chemelil Sugar 1-0 in a Premier League match.
The lanky Ugandan gave Gor the lead 10 minutes into the second half, beating the offside trap after a fine cross from fullback David Owino.
It came after a series of frustrating moments all through the first and beginning of the second half in which coach Zdravko Logarusic had to make two substitutions in five minutes.
It was Gor’s seventh game unbeaten, a run that has seen them win six and draw one as they cemented sixth position with 29 points, one behind Thika United who drew 1-1 with Oserian. Gor Mahia struggled all through the first half failing to have a shot on goal.
Coach Zdravko Logarusic back at the K’Ogalo bench after a week of upheavals at the club with him threatening to resign started with the winning line up against Kenya Commercial Bank from last weekend but they could not click into gear.
The Croat had to withdraw midfielder Nicholas Auma in the 40th minute for striker Itubu Imbem.
But still Chemelil Sugar with their rugged approach to the game frustrated them. Imbea however did not last long, he was substituted at the start of the second half after an injury to his nose. George “Tompo” Midenyo came in for him.
“Finally I win here, I am happy,” said Logarusic whose side has lost to Oserian and Ulinzi at Afraha and drawn with Sony Sugar.

“I can only thank the boys. They fought hard. But I can say we are still in the process of rebuilding this team.”
Defensive play
At City Stadium, Benjamin Chaka, Brian Osumba and Michael Oyando put KCB two up in the first half against Muhoroni Youth.
Chaka and Keli scored in the fifth and Osumba put the bankers two up after 32 minutes of play as they fought to end their losing streak.
Muhoroni were disorganised at the start of the game gifting Chaka and Keli two quick goals. Michael Oyando then finished the rout in the 60th minute.
In Thika, former Gor and Chemelil midfielder Wycliffe Opondo put the home side ahead in the 62nd minute after a sustained defensive play from Oserian. But Oserian levelled the scores with two minutes of the game remaining with a tap from Joseph Elimlim.
Karuturi Sports had newcomer Zzindza Hussein to thank after his 72nd minute goal in Naivasha against Sony Sugar.
