NAIROBI, Kenya, May 10 - President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga have called a crucial meeting with the top leadership of Parliamentary Political Parties in the Yes campaign to agree a strategy for pushing Kenya's Proposed Constitution.

A statement from the Presidential Press Service said the Tuesday meeting would be a consultative forum on strategies in support of the new Constitution.

The forum will take place at Kenyatta International Conference Centre starting at 10.30 a.m.

Kenyans are expected to vote at a referendum in August either for or against the Proposed Constitution which was published last week by Attorney General Amos Wako.

President Kibaki and Prime Minister Odinga have both been at the forefront of campaigns for the Yes vote. Some members of the Grand Coalition Government have taken divergent views even after the Cabinet agreed to support the proposed constitution two weeks ago.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga announced the government would set up a Secretariat and that he and President Kibaki would launch a Yes campaign after the publication of the Proposed Constitution.

The issue of land, abortion and the right to life appear to be splitting the government.

The National Council of Churches of Kenya and a section of the clergy on Saturday launched the NO campaign and vowed to rally Christians to vote against the proposed law.
