KIBAKI CONSOLES GATIBA'S FAMILY

President Mwai Kibaki has sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and friends of the late Mr. Gatiba Karanja who until his death was the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

In his message President Kibaki said that he had learnt with shock about the untimely demise of Mr Karanja, who had served the police force with distinction in various capacities.

The President described the late Gatiba as a hardworking and dedicated public servant who had served the police force for over 30 years.

The President said, "Indeed, with his passing on, the cruel hand of death has robbed of our country a dedicated public servant."

President Kibaki prayed that God gives the family courage and strength to bear the loss of their beloved mentor.

"As you pay homage to the departed soul of this career police officer, it is my trust that you will also be able to celebrate his life, his achievements and his dedication to our country," said the Head of State.

The President prayed that the Almighty God rests the late Gatiba's soul in eternal peace.
