BLOCK REFERENDUM

Even after the 'no' camp demanded for a halt in the ongoing constitution review process to pave way for investigations in the altered clauses of the draft, those opposed to the proposed constitution over the weekend took their campaigns to different parts of the country. Former president Daniel Moi, a section of church leaders and legislators on the 'no' camp are amongst those burning the midnight oil in the 'no' campaigns to ensure they garner enough majority to oppose the draft.

A section of MPs drawn from the north Rift opposed to the proposed constitution, have threatened to move to court to block the referendum exercise should it not be postponed and the issue two documents in circulation addressed amicably.

Konoin MP Julius Kones and Emgwen MP Elijah Lagat maintains that both sides have conceded that the proposed constitution has some "anomalies."

The dramatic turns of events in proposed constitution have left many Kenyans at a crossroad and they are yet to decide which way forward.

The referendum date slated for 4th of august will be a determining factor between the two factions 'yes' and 'no.'
