Look at this message from this preacher supporting Al Shabaab

Wed July 11th 2012 - The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) together with the Anti Terror Police Unit are set to arrest a controversial Islamic preacher over the utterances made last week. Aboud Rogo, the Islamic preacher is also a terror suspect blacklisted by the US government over alleged support for Al Shaabab operations.

The preacher who heads the Masjid Saada mosque in Changamwe had last week criticized the emergence of churches in the Islamic dominated regions in the country. He had told his congregation this and we quote:

"Msikubali  makanisa, Kanisa ni ukafiri….bingu, ardhi, milima yakasirika….ukafiri ni mbaya zaidi kuliko kuuwa, wanapaswa kujua kwamba mauaji ya watu 17 ni kitu kidogo sana…watuuliwa watoto wetu, wanawafanya wakristo, huko ndio kuuliwa zaidi, watoto wa kiislamu wanalazimishwa kuingia kanisani,’’

These statements translate in English that, “Do not accept the emergence of churches, the heavens, the earth, and the mountains have all been angered…..paganism is the worst murder, they should know that the murder of 17 people (referring to the terror attack in Garissa) is a small thing. They are finishing our children, they are converting them to Christianity and that is the worst killing. Muslim children are being forced to enter churches.’’

Mzalendo Kibunja, the NCIC boss said Rogo must be summoned to explain his statements as soon as the evidence is gathered. He added that Rogo will be interrogated, warned and put on surveillance over his utterance. The Coast anti terror police are still waiting to get evidence before they arrest Rogo for the alleged statements of incitements.

“Once we get the facts, we will definitely go for him,’’ said the anti terror police boss Elijah Rop.

The Islamic preacher has also been accused of funding Al Shabaab activities, facilitating travel of youths from and into Somali, and equipping them with skills on how to avoid detection by the police. This prompted the American government to freeze his assets abroad and those of his close associates Abu bakar and Omar Awadh.

He is also suspected to have introduced Fazul Mohammed and Mohammed Kubwa Mohammed the masterminds behind the 1998 terror attacks on the US embassy building in Nairobi, to terror activities.
