Kalonzo gets a huge boost for PRESIDENCY

Wednesday July 25, 2012 - Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka’s  presidential quest got a major boost on Tuesday after leaders from Kirinyaga, Embu and Isiolo counties declared their support for him.

The leaders who were led by former Assistant Minister Charfano Mokku said Mr Musyoka was the ideal candidate to steer the country’s economic growth to greater heights if given the mandate.

Mokku said it was time leaders from Lower Eastern and Upper Eastern rallied behind the Vice President in his quest for the presidency in the upcoming elections.

“We need a leader like you who can unite all the Kenyan communities if we are to realise national cohesion,” Mokku said

On his part, Kalonzo promised the delegation that he will ensure that agriculture, which is the country backbone, was given necessary support including provisions of subsides for farm inputs.

The VP said he will form a 24 -hour economy that will ensure all youths in Kenya are employed.

He urged Kenyans to shun leaders who have been mentioned in various corruption scandals, saying they should be arrested and jailed.

Kalonzo expressed confidence that he will succeed President Kibaki come March 2013.
