Raila pretends to be a reformist - Ruto

Friday July 6, 2012 - Eldoret North MP William Ruto has directed scathing attacks to Prime Minister Raila Odinga, saying he pretends to be a reformist and has done nothing to his constituency for the last ten years.

Speaking during his campaign in Central Rift on Thursady, Ruto who is also United Republican Party (URP) leader challenged the Prime Minister to show Kenyans what he has done for his Langata Constituency leaving alone what he has done for the country.

“The next election will be about the track record of individual candidates. Reforms is not just about what you say, but what you also do,” Ruto said.

He urged the Premier to first address issues affecting Kibera slum before addressing national issues.

And in a way of showing unity in his URP party, Ruto paraded more than 16 MPs including the outspoken Isaac Ruto (Chepalungu MP) and his Belgut legislator Charles Keter who vowed to remain in URP until the much awaited March elections.

Ruto said he and his party will be part and parcel of the next government come rain or sunshine.
