ODM’s Magret Wanjiru and Mayor Aladwa are together

ODM’s Magret Wanjiru and Mayor Aladwa are together

Wed July 11th 2012 -Starehe MP Bishop Magret Wanjiru and Nairobi MAYOR George Aladwa have put their past differences behind them and resolved to work together in efforts to arrest the threats ODM is facing in the city.

In a reconciliation meeting chaired by party national chairman Henry kosgei held at the Bomas of Kenya, the two decided to settle their differences and jointly work together for the sake of the party’s future.

The two have been beefing for the over a year after Aladwa won the ODM Nairobi chairmanship in a heavily contested election that Wanjiru disputed the results claiming that the election was flawed. They said that the peace deal was in fact struck in an earlier meeting convened by the Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the party leader ahead of the Bomas convention.

Aladwa said that the party will now work and move in its activities in harmony adding that they will ensure that the two warring sides get along well.

“Bishop and I will work as brother and sister to unite all our supporters,’’ Aladwa said.
Bishop Wanjiru on the other side called for peace among their supporters and asked them to build a stronger ODM in Nairobi.

“Let us not have a dispute on small issues. Let us work together to popularize our presidential candidate,’’ she said.

The party’s national chairman said that Nairobi is the bedrock of Kenyan politics and if the party scoops all seats in Nairobi, then definitely that will reflect on the other parts of the country.

Other members present in the meeting were members of the ODM reloaded team.
