Musalia Mudavadi is now known as Macharia M’Mukiri

Tuesday July 17, 2012 - Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has been tagged with two new names as a parting shot to voters that he is their best option for president in the upcoming general elections.

While concluding his presidential campaign in Central Kenya on Monday, Mudavadi was tagged with a Kikuyu name “Macharia” while Meru elders gave him the name“M’Mukiri” when he sought their blessings in his bid to State House.

Mudavadi, who has camped in the Mt Kenya region for the last one week, asked his colleague and his competitor Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta to declare him“Tosha” and back him for the State House job.

The presidential hopeful said he lost his Sabatia seat in 2002 because of backing Uhuru for the presidency which Uhuru lost to President Mwai Kibaki.

He said it is time now for Uhuru to rudisha mkono (return the favour) by supporting him for presidency.

Mudavadi told thousands of cheering supporters that there were talks between him and his counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta on how they should go about the election of the next president.
He said the talks are going on well and he was sure the outcome would be in the interest of the country.

All leaders who accompanied Mudavadi, hailed words of praises for the Sabatia legislator, saying he is humble, committed and a true democrat.
