President Kibaki on Thursday issued a stern warning to Al-Shabaab militants, saying the government would not relent in its fight against terrorism.
“Let those who seek to harm us be warned that we will hunt them down. We will not relent in our pursuit and we will not be intimidated.
“The safety of Kenyans and their property is a priority of the government,” the President said when he officially opened Nakuru County’s Agricultural Society of Kenya Show.
He asked the public to support security forces in the fight against terrorism.
The Head of State said the government would mobilise resources and manpower to ensure all citizens are safe to engage in productive activities.
The President stressed that peace and security are key ingredients to the country’s development agenda.
Last Sunday, terrorists attacked two churches in Garissa town, killing 17 people and injuring 66 others.

The Al-Shabaab terror group has since claimed responsibility for the attacks.
And the government has launched a massive security operation to flush out the terrorists. Several Muslim organisations in have condemned the attacks and de-linked them from Islam.
On Thursday, President Kibaki asked Kenyans not to allow themselves to be divided along religious lines.
“Don’t agree to be divided along religious lines. The fight we have embarked on is one against agents of terror,” he said.
He added: “We will complete the work we have begun in stabilising the neighbouring state of Somalia. We owe it to ourselves and the people of Somalia.”
Kenyan Defence Forces have since October last year been fighting members of Al-Shabaab in a bid to restore peace and sanity in Somalia.
On Thursday, there was tight security around the show ground, which was surrounded by regular police and General Service unit personnel.
Even within Nakuru town there were several plain clothes police officers who started patrolling the area since Wednesday night.
The President was accompanied by Cabinet ministers, Yusuf Haji (Defence), Sally Kosgey (Agriculture) and Mohammed Kuti (Livestock).
Others present were acting Head of the Public Service, Francis Kimemia, PS Internal Security, Mutea Iringo and several dignitaries.
