IEBC accused over tender
GEM MP Jakoyo Midiwo has claimed that the tender row on Biometric Voter Registration kits has been stage managed by IEBC commissioners. Addressing the press yesterday in Siaya town on the controversy surrounding the proposed award of the tender to Symphony Africa, Midiwo said the tendering process should be a transparent. "If the stalemate continue to persist then BVR should be ignored until the next election," he said.
Midiwo claimed that IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan had preferred presidential candidates, who could easily benefit from the use of BVR kit if the matter is not handled with care. However, Justice minister Eugene Wamalwa expressed confidence in the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) decision saying it could not be compromised by individuals.
