Regional Development Minister Fred Gumo spent his second night at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, on Thursday night.
The Westlands MP was admitted after coming back from China where he was part of a government delegation that accompanied Prime Minister Raila Odinga in an official tour.
Hospital duty manager, Ms N'gan'ga, confirmed on Thursday night that the Minister was admitted at the facility. She also confirmed that he was stable and "in a position to talk".
Mr Gumo's family had left the hospital at the time of confirmation. The minister also did not want any of his immediate family interviewed on his condition.
" The minister does not want you (Nation) to talk to his immediate family. But he says you can see tomorrow (Friday). He is in a position to talk," said Ms N'gan'ga.
Social media was abuzz on Thursday night with speculation on the minister's condition.
Mr Gumo is a key ally of PM Raila Odinga and he was to picked to act as replace of Musalia Mudavadi in the Ministry of Local Government.
Other ministers who accompanied PM Odinga to the Forum for China-Africa Co-operation were Transport Minister Amos Kimunya, Forestry Minister Noah Wekesa and Finance Minister Robinson Githae.
