DRAMA: Parent and sons Vs teacher

Monday, July 23, 2012 - Drama unraveled at a school in Narok South District when a teacher beat up a parent and two boys as the school pupils and teachers watched.

It all started that morning when the deputy school head teacher arrived at the school early since he was on duty. A day before the incident he had warned pupils on coming to school late and vowed to teach them a lesson if they did not adhere to him.

A standard one pupil walked to school as usual just some few minutes past 8 A.M. and when the teacher saw him he demanded an explanation for being late. When the pupil could not give a reasonable excuse he ordered the boy to wait for him while he knelt at the staff room area.

When the teacher got back he canned the boy and sent him back to class warning him against coming to school late. The boy however did not go to class but opted to go home crying. He reported the teacher to his father who angrily stormed into the school carrying a rungu.

The boy’s father demanded to know which of the many teachers who were taking tea had beaten his son. The boy pointed the teacher out and the angry man hit him on the head with the rungu.

Annoyed by the turn of events the tall and gigantically built teacher attacked the man in a flash causing the other teachers to run off. He grabbed the rungu from the man and beat him severely making a scene at the staff room.

Students and teachers watched helplessly as the men wrestled. Seeing his father being beaten his son who is in standard 8 stepped forward and started beating the teacher too though they were overpowered by the teacher.

The school head teacher however intervened and education officers, parents and church elders were called in to resolve the difference.
