BIG boost for Kalonzo as Ngilu’s ally comes on board

Wednesday July 11, 2012 - Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo have ironed out their political differences and are now working together ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Kilonzo who has been a tough critic of the Mwingi South MP and a supporter of Charity Ngilu over the years showed his new found friendship with Kalonzo on Tuesday by being the master of ceremony during his presidential bid launch at Kenyatta Stadium Machakos.

“I am now working closely with the vice president as he has proved to be to be a good leader and will fully support his bid for the presidency,” Kilonzo said.

The outspoken and youthful MP added that all Ukambani leaders should support the Vice President’s quest to occupy the house on the hill and ensure he gets a bloc vote as he seeks support from other regions.

When he took the podium, the VP hailed Kilonzo for his decision and said he was competent and forthright and welcomed him back to his party.

“We have to reach out to everybody and ensure we all speak the same language if we are to succeed in our endeavors,” Kalonzo said.

All the leaders at the rally uninanimously agreed to support Kalonzo’s quest for presidency and said all Kamba MPs must support the VP’s bid for the top seat, or face the electorate’s wrath of being axed.
