University of Nairobi students on Muigai, Kibaki, Miguna and Raila

University of Nairobi students on Muigai, Kibaki, Miguna and Raila

Sunday July, 21TH 2012--The Students’ Organisation of the University of Nairobi (SONU) called upon the Attorney general to resign saying no one in government is listening to him.

The students who called a press conference led by their chairman Dennis Kiogora went ahead to offer the Attorney general a new Job as Dean of the Faculty of Law in the institution’s Parklands Campus.

The students had called the press conference to express their agitation at President Kibaki’s move to appoint county commissioners and asked him to rescind that decision immediately because it betrays the constitution.

The students also called on the Prime Minster Raila Odinga to give an explanation concerning the allegations levelled against him by Miguna Miguna in his recently published memoir, peeling back the mask.

However the students also demanded that the former advisor of the PM to table evidence he purports to have in sections of his book. The union officials further went ahead to prove their point by matching to the Prime Minister’s office in protest but unfortunately the majority of the students snubbed the protest leaving only a half of a dozen to participate.

The media on the other hand also turned a blind eye on the protest. They proceeded to the office of the president to present their petition with little regard paid to them.
