Shelter Afrique has appointed an independent consultant to investigate allegations of assault against its managing director Alassane Ba.
The company's Chairman of the Board of Directors Elias Mpondela , announced Friday that a decision had been made to carry out detailed investigations and the outcome submitted by November.
Mr Mpondela said the matter will be resolved amicably respecting the rights of all the concerned parties.
“The Board of Directors would inform all concerned stakeholders that this matter will be resolved amicably respecting the rights of all concerned parties, in a manner that does not compromise the ability of the institution to continue facilitating the provision of decent housing in the African Region,” said Mr Mpondela.
Mr Ba has been in the spotlight recently over allegations that he assaulted Finance Director Karen Kandie.
He moved to court and obtained orders in his favour after the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko ordered that he be arrested and charged with assault.
Mr Ba argued that he enjoys diplomatic immunity. The police will not take any action against him until the case is determined. The case is due for hearing in October.
Shelter Afrique is a Nairobi- based Pan African Housing Finance Institution owned by the African Development Bank, Africa Re-Insurance and 44 African Governments.
