Presidential hopefuls intensify campaigns

Leading presidential contenders have intensified their campaigns in a hunt for votes across the country. The UDF presidential hopeful and Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi yesterday embarked on a four-day campaign in Prime minister Raila Odinga’s home turf in Nyanza. Mudavadi has lined up political activities in Bomachoge, Kitutu Chache and Bonchari constituencies.
Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta who is vying for the seat on TNA ticket is in Turkana county and will tour Kakuma and meet leaders in Lodwar before winding up his three-day programme with a public rally in the town. Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper party will hold a rally in Embakasi on Saturday and attend a church function at the AIPCA church, Bahati in Kamukunji constituency on Sunday.
Planning assistant minister and Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth who is the Kenya National Congress presidential hopeful, will be in Ngong town in Kajiado county on Saturday before heading to Embu on Sunday. Eldoret North MP William Ruto, who was in Kilgoris yesterday, will today be in Narok town before moving to Murkan and Njipship tomorrow to sell his URP party. On Sunday, Ruto will attend a family day church function at Igoji Catholic Church in Meru county.
Narc- Kenya's Martha Karua will be in her Gichugu constituency for a burial today before moving to Meru and Tharana Nithi counties. She is expected to attend the Kenya Methodist University graduation before holding a series of rallies in Tharaka Nithi on Sunday. The Restore and Build Kenya party's James ole Kiyiapi will in Western and Rift Valley. He will be in Mt. Elgon tomorrow and Kericho on Sunday. The ODM reloaded team, whose leader is in China, will be in Kajiado from today to Sunday. Tomorrow, the team will attend the homecoming party of EALA MP Judith Pareno at Mashuru area in Kajiado.
