Beleaguered pastor Michael Njoroge of the Fire Gospel Ministries
has been disarmed of his gun following claims that his vehicle was sprayed with
bullets in Embakasi area, Nairobi.
Pastor Njoroge who is a licensed firearm holder was disarmed and
his gun taken for ballistic tests following the claims he made to police.
Njoroge recently featured in the media over his
miracle claims.He reported to police that his vehicle, a black Toyota Prado was
sprayed with bullets by unknown gunmen. But he miraculously escaped unhurt.
However, Nairobi police boss Anthony Kibuchi
said they suspect the incident may have been stage-managed and that is why they
had confiscated his gun to establish if it fired.
"What we are getting shows that the bullets
were fired as the car was stationary and not moving. Had he been on board he
would have been wounded given where the bullets exited,” said Kibuchi.
He added detectives who visited the scene where the pastor claimed he was attacked had collected some spent catridges.
Kibuchi warned the pastor who has been grilled may be arrested and charged if investigations show he lied.
The Penal Code says whoever gives to any person employed in the public service any information which he knows or believes to be false is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for three years.
The pastor claimed that he was in the car but police insist that with the entry and exit points of the bullets, he would have been wounded.
A sex worker had claimed the pastor assaulted her. She also alleged the pastor bribed her to lie in church that he can perform miracles.

A section of evangelical pastors have called on
police to take action on Njoroge and discredited his work. Services were normal
at his church in City Cabanas, Nairobi on Sunday.
