ODM Reloaded LATEST

The National Elections Board of the Orange Democratic Movement – ODM has today released the rules and regulations for next weekend’s National Delegates Conventions for the party Youth and Women. In a press release, the Board Secretary Dr. Joseph Misoi said those aspiring to vie for various posts in the national offices of the Orange Young Democrats must be registered members of the ODM as required by law in order to be allowed to take part in the exercise. Dr. Misoi said the Board will only clear individuals who have been active in party activities at least for the past one year saying that active members of the party must be given priority. He said the board had put in place stringent measures to ensure that the elections are free and fair and that candidates must adhere to the Party Code of Conduct. He added that those aspiring for positions should be present during the convention where the election shall be carried out. Dr. Misoi said the positions to be contested in both conventions, Youth Convention on Friday 13th July and Women’s Convention on Saturday 14th July are as follows; • Chairperson • Deputy Chairperson • Secretary • Deputy Secretary • Treasurer • Deputy Treasurer • Organizing Secretary • Deputy Organizing Secretary • 12 Committee Members The Board’s announcement comes a day after the party top brass, the National Executive Committee under the chairmanship of National Chairman Mr. Henry Kosgey and attended by the Party Leader, Prime Minister Dr. Raila Odinga met and resolved that both conventions be used to elect national office bearers of both leagues. This is part of the party’s agenda to strengthen the party organs and that the two will be semi-autonomous bodies of the party.
