Party people! Which clubs do you think rock?!
Being a party connoisseur of sorts, i believe i am well placed to tell you about which clubs never fail to "kick". I want everyone to note that while i have taken the cost of a imbibing at said establishments into consideration, it isn't the only factor. Issues such as security and the friendliness of the security staff and the ambiance and the crowd has weighed heavily on the decision of which joint features.
And just to start us off, there are a couple of joints that get favourable mention:
Tanager -great atmosphere, zen security personnel (the type only a douche will argue with and excellent prices!
Sankara Rooftop -great ambiance, great atmosphere, great music and a very sophisticated crowd. sadly, exorbitant prices for pint and it's defoz NOT for the "masufferers".

#10 Nation Lounge: 4th flr Graffins Bldng Moi Ave.
Great prices and friendly security team but sadly that's where it ended for me. The service wasn't too friendly within the club itself but given the price of a pint there is 130baab i sometimes see it fit to overlook the service. Who still owe me 70/- change!
#9 Tribeka: Kimathi St. opp Nation Centre.
The ambiance and atmosphere here is for the old foggies (27-55) too stubborn to let go of there raving days. This club is however cool and the decor is both edgy and funky. When i was last there a beer was 200/- which isn't too bad but sadly their security personnel have a history of assaulting patrons all too eagerly and enthusiastically.
#8 Club Bettyz: Kimathi St. opp Tacos.
I have never been to Betty's but my co-workers insist that this list would be a sham if we didn't include Betty's. With that said, a beer at Betty's is 150/- but i have passed by as they freeze youngins so... In their defence, they always play trendy music and the crowd there is hype!

#7 Scratch: Moi Ave. next to Nairobi Sprots House.
The prices of their shots are pocket friendly and the guys who serve there are awesome! But their security team needs some PR training! The bouncers are not friendly or polite ergo civil is a word they have never heard of. The crowd here though is also hype but teetering on the old...

On that note, why does it seem like the club crowd control is getting nastier the closer we get to Nairobi's best club?
#6 OffRoad (4X4): Lang'ata road opp. the Carnivore inlet.
This club is kicking more than any in it's cramped location and what makes it so awesome is the fact that it is underrated. It's like my own little gem in the crowded Lang'ata locale -but granted, of late it has been getting more and more crowded as it's profile rises. The crowd is the more "watu" yuppies (the old foggies again) but the music is awesome as they don't only play ragga (Kenya's club anthem).
#5 Mercury: Waiyaki Way ABC Place.
This club is just so chilled out! The music is also awesome and the ambience is great and what makes this club better than it's Junction sister is that the security team is friendly and helpful. But what i didn't enjoy about this joint is the crowd. a bit too laid back for my "unrefined" taste.

#4 Brew Bistro:Piedmont Plaza Ngong Rd.
This joint is just where it's at! The crowd, security and music are on point but the prices elicit groans from one's wallet the morning after especially if you didn't get lucky!

#3 Crooked Q: Electric Ave.
This has always been a gem in the heart of Electric Ave and it has managed to stay valid and hip even after the former patrons moved on to retirement homes. What i love about Qs other than the friendly service and security is that they managed to reinvent themselves to accommodate a younger yet mature crowd. They have struck a balance and they have done so beautifully.

#2 Volar: same venue as Ngong Racecourse in Karen.
This joint is crazy fun! Everything about Volar is on point. The crowd always has beautiful voluptuous women, cool lads for the lasses (i'm evidence of that) and the security is friendly.
You have to get there to experience it but again this joint isn't for us "masufferers". Pint is 250/- but trust me that it is well worth it since you'll have invested in your security and peace of mind.

#1 Mollys: Electric Ave Westlands.
This joint used to be the obz central of Westie. That was before they found a way to reinvent themselves and come off as the come-back kings of the century! These guys have managed to remain economical (friendly prices) and that is where their charm is but they also have gotten the KC market and the uptown youngies. Even Camp Mulla's Shappaman has been spotted there many a time jamming with fellow cool kidz. Their beers go for 150/- so you shouldn't complain.
