It was the Royal march from the ‘The Spaniards’, De España Marcha Real as they tore apart the Italian wall of defence to leave the ‘Superman’ Buffon a mere mortal. Spain 4 : 0 Italy90+3 min SPAIN HAVE CREATED HISTORY!!!! THEY ARE THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW—A FEAT NEVER ACHIEVED BEFORE. THEY DOMINATED THE PROCEEDINGS HERE AT KYIV TONIGHT, DICTATING THE PACE AND FATE OF THE GAME AND MARCHING TO A 4-0 VICTORY OVER HAPLESS ITALIANS. 88 min: Before you could even blink your eyes, Juan Mata registered another goal for Spain. The Italians have been taken to cleaners by the all conquering defending champions. 4-0. Carnage here at Kiev. An unselfish play from Torres as he sets Mata for an easy finish as his Chelsea teammate taps the ball in an empty net. 87 min: Substitution Luján Juan Mata in Andrés Iniestaout Spain 3 : 0 Italy84 min: And Fernando Torres scores for Spain!!! He has sealed the title for Spain. The lead has been stretched to 3-0 by the striker. De Rossi gives the ball away inside his own half and Xavi takes advantage. He passes it to Torres and the striker puts it past Buffon and into the bottom left-hand corner. 79 min: Pedro has been saved the blushes by the linesman who flags him for an offside offence after he sidefoots an effort wide, 77 min: Iniesta wins a corner after Andrea Barzagli blocks his cross. What is strange is the fact that both Spain and Italy have almost the same possesion. 74 min: Substitution Fernando Torres in Cesc Fàbregas out 73 min: The Italians have been strangled here. Their body language tells the whole story. Spain are well on their path to glory and history. 71 min: Di Natale is ruled offside as he fails to time his run correctly. 66 min: The Spanish fans in the stadium are already singing and celebrating. Xavi with the pass of the tournament as Alba races past three Italian defenders and shoots the ball past a hapless Buffon. 40 min Dangerous ball in by Alonso for Silva at the edge of the box, Balzaretti with a timely challenge. 39 min Free kick to Spain, Balzaretti fouls Silva. 38 min Balotelli goes for goal, long range effort well over the bar. 35 min Spanish in number again, 1-2s in the area, but the flag is raised. Silva offside. 33 min SUPER SAVE FROM SAINT CASILLAS as Abate (Italy) has an attempt on goal. Long range one as Pirlo lays the ball for the defender. 30 min Silva (Spain) is penalised for a foul on De Rossi (Italy). Free kick, Pirlo takes it no good as he hits in low but wide. 29 min Good through pass by De Rossi from centre to Cassano on far left, Cassano controls, swirls has a shot on goal, weak one Casillas with an easy save. 27 min Good cross in by Pirlo as Casillas punches the ball away, the ball is loose but Baletolli doesn’t reach the ball as Casillas picks the ball up. 26 min Spain attacking veraciously but it is Balzaretti with the rescue. 24 min First YELLOW of the game, and it is Pique for a challenge on Cassano (Italy). 21 min SUBSTITUTION: Balzaretti (in) - Chiellini (out) (Italy). . Giorgio Chiellini hobbles off the pitch with what looks like a knee injury - on comes left-back Federico Balzaretti, who is a ready-made replacement, but this is still a big blow for the Azzurri. 20 min MISTAKE in defense, give away by Italian defense, but Italy survive. Fabregas tees the ball up for Xavi, and he fires a swerving shot just over Buffon's crossbar. 8 min Alba on the outside again, as Iniesta tries a long range, Italian defence blocks the effort. 7 min Good ball in by Alba ans Silva sneaks behind, Cheillni gives away a corner, Xavi takes the corner and Ramos heads it too powerfully. Goal kick for Italy. 6 min Free-kick for Spain, De Rossi (Italy) is penalised for a foul on Xavi Hernández (Spain).Ramos with the kick and too much height on it. 3 min Good play Italy, but Montolivo and Cassano bump into each other, possession for Spain and the Italians are back peddling. 2 min Italy inside the ‘D’ and the first go on goal is from Pirlo, but just too wide. 1 min So we are underway, and that is the first free-kick of the night.
