Citizen TV’s Mother-in-law ‘Wanade’ and family

Wednesday, 18/07/2012 – The record has finally been set straight. Speculations have been mounting on who the real mother of Baha is. Some said that he was son to scriptwriter Naomi Kamau among other names.

However, Ruth Mbaya aka Wanade is mother to two sons, Baha - Kamau Mbaya and Mungai Mbaya - Makutano Juction actor. They live opposite Kanyariri High School-Kikuyu. Ruth reveals that she grew up in Shauri Moyo and knew quite a lot in acting thus exposed her kids too it early.

Their father Robert Mbaya had been out of the country in the USA for over 10 years and was quite shocked to learn that his family was pretty popular.

He claims that he only followed them through newspaper clips and is very proud of them. He recounts that when he came back recently, he walked with Baha in the streets of Nairobi and was mesmerised to hear people shout his son’s name.

Baha’s brother Mungai is the presenter of ‘Knowzone’.  They all acted in a movie, Toto Millionaire a while back. The kids have a soft spot for football and are deeply engrossed in it.

Did you know that Wanade was actually a teacher? Her elder son Mungai is in Form 1 in Chania Boys High school. 12 year old Baha is in Class 8 at Junel School along Fort Smith Road.

Baha is always the noisy one who is touchy, humble and a cute know-it all who is always all over the place. On the other side, Mungai is quite reserved and spends time watching movies. Baha acts over the weekends while Mungai does his shows while on holiday.
