Are you a corrupt politician in Kenya? We will know you soon

Fri. July 6th 2012 - Corrupt officers will soon be named by the Commission on Administration of Justice in a bid to enable Kenyans have prior knowledge of those seeking electoral positions. According to the commission’s vice chairman, Regina Mwatha, this among other measures will ensure that leaders are fully accountable to the people.

She warned those seeking to be elected as governors, senators and county representative to stay clean and avoid corruption and various malpractices if they want to be on the safe side.
She insisted that it is shameful to steal from the people and still go ahead to ask them to elect you as there representative. Ms Mwatha was speaking at the opening of a two-day seminar for 40 Monitors of Violation of Human rights drawn from Tharaka Nithi and Embu County at an Embu hotel yesterday.

In order to lock them out of leadership, the vice chair said that their names have to be put out in the media to shame them and for the people to know them before the election.

The Commission on the Administrative of Justice is planning to move their offices from its current position at the Prime Minister’s office to Westlands. The seminar was meant to equip participants with monitoring skills for any form of violation at the grassroots.
