G7 and PNU form Nairobi Youth Alliance

The G7/PNU Alliance has set up a Youth Congress to consolidate its support among the youth in Nairobi. Over one hundred youths drawn form the eight Nairobi constituencies met and the banner of Nairobi G7 Youth Alliance to plan how to make the group popular. The grouping which held its first meeting at a city hotel yesterday elected Interim officials who will steer the team.
 Activist Billy Arocho was elected as chairman while Ruth Mumbi was elected secretary as Simon Kamutu became treasurer. Seth Orinda was elected as organizing secretary with Mugo Kanyi the group’s spokesperson.
 Yesterday an elated Arocho said that their group will come up with programs that will revitalize the support of the alliance in city politics. “We want to make the G7 alliance the most preferred political grouping in city politics,” he said while delivering a victory speech.
 Arocho said the youths had resolved to support any candidate who will be picked from the alliance as the flag bearer in next year’s election. “Any party or individual who does not get the support of the youths risks being sent to political oblivion,”
 “We are also warning that anybody who is planning fallout will be left behind as the youths will be united in support the joint candidate,” he added.
 The team said that they will be the face of the alliance in the city and will ensure PNU/G7 alliance sweeps majority of the seats in the city. “We will work tirelessly to ensure we hold grip of the city by clinging, the senator, governorship, seats of parliament and county representatives,” Kanyi added.
 The group said they will be holding a series of rallies in al wards in Nairobi to recruit more members to the movement. “We will again be meeting soon to release our program of activities which include recruitment exercises four our congress,” Arocho said.
