Mystery surrounds the death of a 28-year-old Austrian man whose body was found at JKIA on September 12. Airport police are yet to unravel the death of France Stroma who was discovered dead at the airport terminal 4 after he was dropped off by a taxi.
Detective’s privy to the investigations yesterday told the Star that police were still trying to retrace how Stroma accessed the terminal which is under construction and restricted to workers.
The sources said preliminary investigations indicate that France Stroma , who was a law Intern at the Kenya Human Rights Commission may have committed suicide.
An officer at the KHCR who yesterday identified herself as Millicent confirmed that Stroma was a student at the commission but declined to reveal more about the man.
Police sources who requested anonymity said the CID had questioned a taxi driver who dropped Stroma at the airport on September 11, hours before he was found dead. Stroma had visible body injuries and a broken skull. Blood was also oozing from his mouth and his arm and leg were also swollen.
The postmortem investigation on the body of  Stroma had revealed that he had suffered internal bleeding. The body has since been flown to Austria for burial.
Police had difficulties establishing the nationality of the man because he did not have identification documents. The new terminal is under construction and is intended to handle domestic and international flights in the future. Airport commandant Philip Tuimur could not be reached for comment because he did not answer his phone.
