Police are investigating the death of a house help at Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Karen home that occurred last night.
The house help was found by a colleague in her room at 7am when she failed to report for duty. The deceased had thrown-up in her room.
According to Mrs Ida Odinga, the deceased, Leonida Maemba, 45 years, went to bed at 9:30PM in good health.
However, it was noted that she had lit a charcoal cooker (jiko) in her room to keep warm, which she later took out of the room.
While addressing the press, Mrs Odinga said the deceased, who is also a mother of one son has worked for the family since 2007.
Her son, who works at Shimo la Tewa Prison has been briefed on the situation.
The body has been taken to Montezuma Funeral Home for a post-mortem.
