Monday, the 17th of December 2012 -The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt that the Jubilee alliance has called an urgent meeting of its partner parties and MPs this evening to discuss the imminent departure of DPM Musalia Mudavadi from the alliance.
The meeting was called after Mudavadi failed to turn up at Wilson Airport to meet allies Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto for a planned rally in Charity Ngilu’s Kitui backyard. Kenyatta and Ruto left for Kitui without him.
Sources in Mudavadi’s camp are also signaling that the DPM will not attend tomorrow’s joint National Delegates Conference at the Karasani Gynasium which is supposed to endorse the Jubilee alliance’s Presidential candidate.
It’s a bit late in the day for Mudavadi to have cold feet though because the pre-election agreement his UDF party signed with URP and TNA says that the party has to give a three month notice before it opts out of the alliance.
So what gives? Is Mudavadi done for? Has Uhuru managed to scare the former VP from even turning up at Kasarani tomorrow?
All these questions will be answered in due course but just remember where you read it first.
