Monday, the 17th of December 2012 -The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt that the Jubilee alliance has decided to postpone its National Delegates Conference (NDC) which was supposed to be held at the Kasarani Gymasium tomorrow.
The NDC was meant to endorse the alliance’s Presidential candidate and running mate. The presidential ticket is being sought by the much fancied Uhuru Kenyatta and his rival Musalia Mudavadi who it is widely believed has some strong backing from State House.
URP party leader William Ruto is expected to have an easier time getting the endorsement for Deputy President.
This emerged as sources inform us that members of parliament allied to TNA are having a crisis meeting at the Panafric Hotel. Other MPs allied to URP, UDF and some from TNA are having a separate meeting at the Jacaranda Hotel.
The main disagreement between the three parties is whether to settle for a party primary to select its top aspirants or to opt for the easier but – considerably less democratic option – of a board room selection.
More on this story to follow.
