Kenya Red Cross is searching for the missing persons
Three people are still missing in Kerio Valley where landslides killed 13 people and displaced 200 households on Saturday.
According to the Kenya Red Cross Society, those reported to be missing include a mother and a child. KRCS Communication officer Nelly Muluka however says rescue efforts are still on as the organization with the help of local authorities dig through the muddy debris in search of the missing persons.
Speaking to KBC Monday on phone, Ms Muluka also said that an assessment report in West Kenya region indicates an estimated 180 households have been displaced after River Nyando and Sondu burst its banks.
She said the organization has so far evacuated the affected families to safer grounds.
Ms. Muluka said they are currently involved in the distribution of non-food items in all areas affected by mudslides and floods.
