The family of former Cabinet Minister Ronald Ngala has demanded fresh investigations into his death 40 years ago.
They have appealed to the newly appointed Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to set up a team to investigate his death.
Speaking at an event to mark the 40th anniversary of his death at Kaloleni, Giriama on Saturday, the family dismissed findings of a government inquest which concluded that Mr Ngala’s driver was stung by bees as he drove the then minister from Nairobi to Mombasa and lost control of the car on December 12, 1972.
The former MP’s son, former Cabinet minister Noah Katana Ngala, dismissed the findings.
“Why did my father have to travel on Jamhuri Day from Nairobi, where he had traditionally celebrated the day with President Jomo Kenyatta?” Mr Ngala asked.
As kenya's first chief minister, the truth now ought to be known
