Dear Mr. UhuRuto,
As we celebrate this Christmas season,as Christians we empathize with Christ who came and died for our sins, and what comes in my mind is tolerance. Why I am I saying so?
In your most recent attack on your opponents which is your constitutional right, you described them as "puppets of the west", not such a horrible saying but it came from you as negatively impacting. I have followed your politics recently and to your disbelief, I think the level of maturation was peaking.  Your statement does not connote this maturation.
Every single day, Kenyans from all sorts of walk are fortunate to pursue their dreams in the west, most of the time because their motherland has failed to offer to them the same opportunity. In the end, they never forget their homes and in return send billions of money formally known as diaspora remittances and materials to help build their country, it's called patriotism and heroism because they could opt to invest 100% of that in the west.
Therefore, I find it very thankless from a person of your caliber to make such blatant and inflammatory statement, knowing that should you win the presidency, the western opportunities created to your people will continue helping massively towards your nation building let alone the massive aid provided everyday to Kenyans.
Both you and me have businesses with the west, but the relationship should be symbiotic and not parasitic. In business, you don't generalize and name call your consumers, you welcome all of them. Your statement negates the symbiotic relationship that we ought to nurture. In retrospect, I would urge you to retract and weigh your statements before going to the press.
It kills the very culture of tolerance that we have worked hard to nurture in the west, mind you we are raising our kids in the west and would like them to feel welcomed at home.
I wish you a merry Xmas and happy New Year.
-Geoffrey Okelo
