The VP said the government will handle the demolitions issues in accordance with the constitution
Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged the Mutava Musyimi led Parliamentary Probe Committee on demolitions to swiftly conclude their investigations and present their report to parliament in order for action to be taken.
Mr. Musyoka said severe action will be taken against government officers who facilitated the fleecing of innocent Kenyans.
"Many Kenyans invested millions of shillings in land purchases believing them to be genuine. Those whose houses have been demolished for mistakes not of their own, should be assisted in one way or another," he said.
The Vice President was speaking during a fundraiser towards the purchase of land for African Inland Church Umoja at Peter Kibosya Primary School in Umoja, Embakasi constituency.
The fundraiser realized Kshs. 1,962,810  with the Vice President giving his contribution of Kshs. 300,000, Members of Parliament for Makadara and Kamukunji , Mike Mbuvi  and Yusuf Hassan gave Kshs. 50,000  each while the Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu sent Kshs. 20,000.
He said the government will handle the demolitions issues in accordance with the constitution so that those who were involved in the illegal deals will have to answer for their own actions.
Mr. Musyoka said the government has already taken action against some senior officers in the land office who engaged in the unscrupulous deals.
He said the government empathizes and sympathizes with the affected people and will come up with solutions to the problem.
He said all government officers must exercise transparency and accountability when conducting   government services.
Mr. Musyoka called on non governmental organizations and well wishers to help in alleviating the suffering of the Kenyans affected.

They said the government has the responsibility of protecting its citizens against fraudsters hence should take the necessary action against the culprits.
They said housing and shelter was a basic fundamental right for all citizesn and it was wrong for the government to destroy wealth and investments of its people.
Mr. Mbuvi also called on Kenyans to shun politics of tribalism, ethnicity and hatred and instead embrace unity and love amongst themselves to avoid a repeat of the 2007 post election violence.
He said he will not relent from supporting Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's bid for Presidency.
