Kanu’s top brass will meet next month to fix dates for its grassroots and national elections, the party’s secretary general has announced.
Mr Nick Salat also said the forum, which will be held on January 5 2011 will be used to map out strategies for the party’s recruitment drive ahead of elections.
The secretary general assured party members that all the seats will be contested.
“There are no sacred cows who have specific seats reserved for them,” said Mr Salat.
He was speaking at Silibwet Sports Grounds in Bomet Central Division after watching a friendly match between Gor Mahia and Silibwet FC.
The former MP also urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers when the party starts its recruitment drive and promised the gathered residents that Kanu will return to power in the next general election.
Chepalungu MP Isaac Ruto and Gor Mahia’s Secretary General Mr George Bwana accompanied him.
However, Mr Ruto said he would be decamping from ODM to UDM and urged Kenyans to take advantage of the latter’s ongoing recruitment exercise to join the party. (READ: Now Ruto considers ditching UDM party)
