Ruto puts case for Gema-Kalenjin Unity

By Patrick Muthuri
Eldoret North MP William Ruto has called on the Gema communities and the Kalenjin to unite to win the 2012 General Election.
Addressing councillors and residents at Chogoria in Tharaka Nithi County, he said once the Meru accepts the unity pact, their cousins in central Kenya would join the political vehicle and easily win the presidency with the Kalenjin.
"I have consulted with some Meru MPs so that we can come together to achieve peace in this country, which has been elusive," Ruto said.
Ruto regretted that Meru leaders refused to take the presidential running mate position despite him giving the community the priority.
