President Kibaki leaves for UAE
NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 20 – President Mwai Kibaki jetted out of the country on Sunday morning to start a four day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The plane carrying President Kibaki and his entourage departed Jomo Kenyatta International airport shortly after 11.00 am.
While in the UAE, President Kibaki will hold bilateral talks with the President of UAE who is also the ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, the Prime Minister of UAE who is also the ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum and the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed.
The President is also scheduled to officially open Kenya’s Consulate General in Dubai and crown his tour with an address to Kenyan Diaspora in UAE.
The President was seen off at the airport by Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Defence Minister Mohamed Yusuf Haji, Assistant Ministers Mwangi Kiunjuri and Kabando wa Kabando and Chief of General Staff Gen Julius Karangi, among other senior Government officials.
