PNU candidate Hassan wins Kamukunji seat

PNU candidate Abdi Yusuf Hassan has won the Kamukunji parliamentary seat with provisional results showing he garnered 19,030 votes.
The Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC) is relaying the results electronically and making them available on their website.
PNU and ODM candidates broke away from the pack as early as when six out of 23 stations’ votes had been counted.
PNU candidate Hassan is followed by ODM’s Ahmed Ibrahim alias Johnny with 15,476 and Weke Brian Otieno of Narc-Kenya at a distant third place with just 4,064 votes.
The other five candidates are trailing behind with each capturing less than 400 votes. Muthoni Kihara, the only female candidate got 248 votes from the 23 voting stations.
Kamukunji has 128,526 registered voters out of which only 40, 454 cast their votes in this by-election to elect their MP after more than six months of waiting.
