Tuesday December 18, 2012 – A section of MPs affiliated to The National Alliance (TNA) party have said a political divorce will be inevitable with Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi if the ongoing talks on the mode of electing the Jubilee coalition flag bearer fails to materialise.
Led by Igembe South MP Mithinka Linturi, the MPs said if Mudavadi does not agree to the delegates system, then there will be no option but to end the relationship.
“We have been very tolerant as TNA and what we are asking UDF is who is bringing what to the table of votes,” Linturi said.
Linturi was speaking at the Jacaranda Hotel on Monday evening where he said they have had several meetings which had not produced anything.
Mudavadi and Uhuru Kenyatta have been locked in a stalemate over the choice of the Jubilee coalition’s Presidential candidate where the former is preferring consensus method and the latter is opting for a delegates system.
The meeting was attended by 13 lawmakers from Mt Kenya region.
