MAKADARA MP Mike Sonko has vowed to "deal with" the city council chief officer for ordering the demolition of facilities he donated to youth groups near his residence. The MP is accusing the chief officer of “playing with fire” because he knows there is a High Court order restraining the city council from demolishing any structures in the constituency. Sonko has vowed to ensure that the director goes to jail. The structures and the water tank were put up by money from the Makadara Constituency Development Fund accounts.

A top public service entity executive who recently announced he would be retiring is grooming his man to take over, a move some top managers are quietly protesting. The outgoing man, our moles say, wants to exercise control of the firm from behind the scenes. Managers who fear that they may be locked out of the job want the position to be filled competitively so as to maintain donor confidence.

A prominent MP from Kajiado county was humiliated on Saturday when he called councillors from his constituency to inform them a governor aspirant had resigned from TNA. Unknown to the MP, the aspirant was with the councillors to market his candidature. The councillors were all smiles as some of them said they wanted the MP to learn a bitter lesson after he failed to budge on a proposal to share the county positions. The councillors are now warning that the MP’s political future is in jeopardy unless he agrees that the two major communities in Kajiado county share the available elective seats.
