A judge known for his love of the bottle was effusively loud and eloquent at an exclusive joint in the Upper Hill area. He loudly bragged about his 'razor-sharp' legal mind and went ahead to denounce some of his colleagues on the bench whom he said were "unsuitable' for the job. He was particularly voluble about two of his colleagues who are now Supreme Court justices. His beef with the two judges is that they 'were too ill for the rigors' of the High Court;  were shallow and were incapable of writing well-reasoned judgments with any depth. He said their promotion would 'insulate their incompetences' through the collective procedures of the appellate court.

A spokesman of a leading presidential aspirant was last week forced to rush to the National Housing Corporation offices to clear outstanding arrears on his mortgage and save his boss from any ignominy. The man, known for his caustic dispatches in defence of his boss, was allocated a house by NHC in Kakamega through its tenant purchase scheme and had defaulted in making payment. Last week the Corporation issued a notice in the media threatening  to repossess the house. Not willing to subject his boss in further embarrassment, he paid up.

Members of CORD alliance in Nairobi are crying foul after TNA allegedly sponsored a Ford Kenya aspirant to contest in the Embakasi East parliamentary seat. Our moles say the aspirant was recently given Sh7million to demand for a joint nomination. The plan is that he gets the Ford Kenya ticket for the seat so that he can split  the vote for CORD and thereby allow TNA to win. The moles further said that this is just one of many other seats in the city where Ford Kenya aspirants are being prevailed to demand for instead of the joint nominations with ODM as has been proposed.
