PRESIDENTIAL aspirant the Rev Mutava Musyimi has announced that he is ready to form alliances with other like-minded politicians. Speaking in Nakuru at the weekend where he met Democratic Party delegates from six constituencies, the Rev Musyimi said the move is aimed at fostering national peace and stability.
More than 300 party delegates from Nakuru, Bomet, Narok, Kericho, Baringo and Nyandarua counties attended the meeting. “I’m open to alliances. I’m leaving the doors open as we do our campaigns. I will not mind entering into alliances with other like-minded politicians,” said the Gachoka legislator.
He said if elected, his government will give priority to the problems affecting the youth. “Currently, the youth are not able to access funds from the government to uplift their living standards due to bureaucracy. We need a bold agenda for the youth because if we fail to address their issues, they will explode very soon and it will be impossible to contain them,” said the MP.
He said his government will invest more on health and education, particularly on middle-level colleges. The Rev Musyimi faulted the government for its emphasis on university education at the expense of middle-level colleges. He said his government will be all-inclusive as all the communities aught to have a share of the national cake.
He faulted the multi-billion projects being undertaken by the government at the expense of the poor people languishing in poverty. “As much as we need the superhighways, the government should focus on projects such as feeder roads, water, electricity that would make their life more enjoyable and worth living in the rural areas,” he said.
