It was gloom at the normally top performing Kanga High on Wednesday.
The Rongo-based school, which was recently promoted to national status, had one candidate with Y grade so the Ministry of Education did not rank it.
Teachers and support staff looked dumbfounded. It was an anti-climax for the students. Last year, the school was ranked 24th out of 100 top schools nationally with an index performance of 9.8071.
Gloom also engulfed Sawagongo High and St Francis Rang’ala Girls in Siaya County.
St Francis Rang’ala was last year ranked 31 out of the 100 top performers nationally with a mean grade of 9.6760 whereas Sawagongo High School was placed at position 64 with a mean grade of 8.8971.
A total of 26 schools in Nyanza Province were found with irregularities and their results were withdrawn
