PM Raila and Mudavadi intensify ODM campaigns

PRIME Minister Raila Odinga and his deputy Musalia Mudavadi intensify their campaigns for ODM party ticket this weekend. Raila heads to the Coast with meetings scheduled in Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale and Taita Taveta counties while Mudavadi will tour Kericho, Bomet and Kisii counties. Both the PM and DPM are out to convince ODM delegates that thy are the best to carry the party mantle at the forthcoming general election.
ODM National Delegates Congress will take place on March 30 and the leaders are using these meetings to convince the delegates to adopt their preferred mode of selection.
Raila and his allies favour the delegates nominating the candidate while Mudavai and his camp are demanding that the elections are held at county leave and the IEBC supervises the polls. “The ODM constitution provides that the nomination of the presidential candidate shall be carried out by the NDC or any other method,” Secretary General Anyang Nyongo said.
Today Raila will be in Kilifi, on Saturday Kwale, then Mombasa before concluding his meets at Voi, in Taita Taveta County. Mudavadi will be in Bomet County today and leave to Kericho tomorrow (Saturday) as he seeks to woo delegates to his side.
On Sunday Mudavadi, will spend the whole day in Kisii meeting community, opinion leaders, councillors and elders to seek their support not just within ODM but for his presidential ambition while he will address ODM delegates on Monday.
