Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi is the only candidate who can beat the G7 Alliance in the next General Election, a section of ODM leaders have said.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga might not win the presidential race because he had been marked by many political competitors, the Western province politicians claimed.
MPs Justus Kizito, Manyala Keya and Benjamin Washiali said Mr Mudavadi stands a better chance than Mr Odinga against the G7 Alliance.
Political enemies
Mr Khalid Njiraini, the ODM chairman in Emuhaya, said Mr Mudavadi had no political enemies. (READ: No party politics at the PM’s dinner: Mudavadi)
“Mr Odinga is a good nominee, but he has made many enemies. If this was a football game, and Mr Odinga was our striker, he cannot score because he has been marked and that is why were are saying he should give the pass to Mr Mudavadi who is in a good position to score,” Mr Njiraini said.
The leaders were speaking in Ruiru where Mr Mudavadi met delegates from Kiambu County to solicit for their votes during the party’s presidential nominations
Mr Mudavadi said that the nominations were scheduled for either March or April.
