Gospel singer Jimmi Gait and Safaricom donated food and clothing to the 650 families living as IDPs in Kieni forest during the Christmas season. Jimmie told Word Is, “Safaricom came to support my Make It or Make It campaign that is in conjunction with Expansion International. The main aim is to make sure that these people who have been living in the forest for the last 15 years since the 1992 Rift Valley clashes are resettled. In the meantime, I am appealing for the support of these people. They live in terrible conditions that are truly uncomfortable. I am appealing to other corporate organisations and ordinary Kenyans to lend a hand just as Safaricom has.”
The Muhadhara singer will donate all the proceeds that will accrue from the download of the song, Furi Furi the remix. The single features media personalities Julie Gichuru and Jeff Koinange and  Safaricom boss Bob Collymore. “All the money that I will raise through downloads will go to helping them. To download, text JG to 8025, and make a difference in their lives,” Jimmie said.
