A little bird has whispered to Corridors that some very high up is trying to cut a deal with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission to drop corruption charges against a prominent personality. The individual involved has reportedly presented a petition to the commission to prevail upon it not to charge the prominent person. It seems pressure is also being brought to bear on the commission by senior ministers who are afraid that if the man is eventually charged, the case will be an embarrassment in future.

A senior provincial administrator has been forced by his colleagues to dump his young lover after they complained that she had been discussing sensitive government secrets.The young woman is alleged to have become indiscreet about what she and her aged lover discussed as pillow talk. Concerned that the situation might get out of hand, the administrator's colleagues gave him an ultimatum— give up the young woman or they write a formal complaint to their superiors! The administrator who is a few years shy of his retirement opted to give up his inamorata.

A city councillor accosted and beat up an old man who had gone to the city's Planning department to complain about the manner in which land in the ward was being allocated and used. The hapless old man was on Tuesday set upon by the combative councillor of a well known city ward. He was only saved by the intervention of members of the public who prevailed upon the councillor to stop.

That Town Clerk Phillip Kisia was born in Pumwani hospital may not be a very well known fact. But the moment news filtered out that he was going to celebrate his birthday at the hospital drew large crowds of young people who thronged the hospital who hoped to some cake. As Kisia was cutting his birthday cake inside the hospital, the youths loudly sang 'Happy Birthday" oblivious to the disruption they were causing the patients at the hospital. Their hopes of getting a piece of cake were dashed when the birthday boy was quickly escorted to his vehicle and driven away.
