A former member of Ninth Parliament was caught in a fix when he attempted to have his car serviced for free at a city petrol station. The boisterous man arrived at the service station to find a queue of other motorists all waiting to have their cars serviced. He entered the servicing pit claiming that he was in a hurry. The other motorists, being considerate Kenyans, allowed him to jump the queue. Once it was done, the ex-MP pretended to reverse the car from the servicing area and was driving away without paying the Sh10,000 service charge when the station attendants stopped him.

Police in Runyenjes are scratching their heads over a theft reported at the CDF offices. The story is that thieves broke into the CDF offices on Wednesday night and stole computer monitors leaving behind the CPUs and the keyboards. The watchman on duty claims he heard noises in the night but thought they were made by bats. Police are baffled at the stupidity of the thieves who made off with useless computer screens!

Yesterday, we told you about senior legal officers in an asset financing local bank, who have been conniving with outsiders to steal properties belonging to customers. Corridors was yesterday informed that the officers in the legal department identify the property whose owner has delayed in remitting payment and move in quickly to offer the same for sale to their friends without following the right procedures and in return get a substantial 'finders fee'. The officers mark the property and prepare documents in advance to allow the owner insufficient period for recourse.
